Lap band Surgery and Hair Loss?

It has now been 3 months since I had the lap band surgery done, I must say it has been quite helpful and I could notice reduction in weight to an increased rate but at the same time I am observing problems with my hair, they are falling quite more often and thinning on almost continuous note. So, I wanted to know it this hair loss the result of lap band, or something else and how do I get it solved.

The process of lap band surgery involves placement of adjustable prosthetic device made of silicon around the stomach so as to have its size reduced, thereby helping with loosing weight. So, if your question is does the hair fall you are experiencing is due to lap band surgery then it is partially true.

It is important for you to know that problem of hair loss as well as thinning is observed by almost all patients of lap band in the first 6 months time to varying extent. The prime reason for the same is lack in intake of proper amount of protein, so bit of patience is expected from you. In addition to that, it is quite necessary to consume surplus amount of protein and rest will be fine, as this very weight loss surgery does not metabolize nutrients and once intaken they will be absorbed by the body, helping you get rid of problems with hair. Dairy products low fat ones, fish and chicken are some of the common sources you could go with.
